What to Know About Inauguration Day Protests and Celebrations in N.M. 2025
Donald Trump will be sworn in for his second term as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, sparking a range of reactions across New Mexico. The state will witness both protests and celebrations surrounding the inauguration.
Protests and Demonstrations
In Albuquerque, the Party for Socialism and Liberation will kick off anti-Trump demonstrations with an “art build” event. The community is invited to participate, and the props created will be used during the protest scheduled for Monday.
Additionally, a series of protests will take place across the state, including a notable march in Santa Fe and a women’s march in Albuquerque.
Celebration Events
The Republican Party of New Mexico will host a celebration in Albuquerque to mark Trump’s second term. Various other Republican groups will also hold events, including one in Alamogordo to honor the inauguration.
