UP FOR GRUBS: McDonald’s lauches 50c deal for National Cheeseburger Day – how to claim your burger
According to THE SUN, McDonald’s is celebrating National Cheeseburger Day on September 18 with an unbeatable offer: double cheeseburgers for just 50 cents. To take advantage of this deal, customers need to download the McDonald’s app and place their order through it, according to People.
Additional Deals
In addition to the cheeseburger special, McDonald’s is also offering a $5 meal deal available until December. This meal deal includes a McDouble or McChicken burger, fries, Chicken McNuggets, and a drink. The McDonald’s president noted, “Customers are looking for even more great value from us, and this summer that’s exactly what they’ll get.”
New UK Drink
Recently, McDonald’s introduced a new drink in the UK after the success of the Grimace Shake in the US. The new drink is a purple milkshake featuring blueberry-flavored syrup blended with a creamy base. A medium drink costs £2.69, while a large is priced at £2.99, though prices may vary by location. The shake is inspired by Grimace, McDonald’s purple mascot first introduced in the 1970s, who was originally portrayed as a villain stealing milkshakes.

£3 Meal Deal Update
McDonald’s fans in the UK and Ireland enjoyed a £3 meal deal starting July 31, which allowed them to select three dishes for just £3. This offer was available until August 28 and included items like a Cheeseburger, Apple Pie, or Mayo Chicken, among other choices. The previous £3 meal deal, from May 22 to June 10, had included a miniature McFlurry, but this was not part of the latest promotion. With eight items to choose from, there were 100 possible food combinations.
Expansion Plans
Looking ahead, McDonald’s plans to open 200 new restaurants across the UK and Ireland over the next four years. This expansion represents the largest growth initiative by the Big Mac maker in more than two decades. Currently, McDonald’s UK operates 1,435 restaurants, with about 80% owned and run by franchisees.
