Unidentified human remains were discovered on August 17 in Otero County, officials reported
The 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Investigations Unit is collaborating with Parabon NanoLabs, a DNA technology company, to identify the individual.
Authorities believe the man may have been from neighboring states such as Arizona, Colorado, or California, and that his family could reside in northern New Mexico or one of these surrounding areas.
Details regarding the man’s age at the time of death or the exact time of his death remain unknown. However, officials released an image of what the man might have looked like at around 40 years old.
Based on current information, the man is estimated to have been between 25 and 52 years old, Latino, with black hair, brown or hazel eyes, and light brown to fair skin.
