Two Men Arrested for Alleged Knife Assault at Mountain View Taqueria

Two Mountain View men were arrested early Sunday morning following an alleged knife attack in the parking lot of a local taqueria, according to the Mountain View Police Department.

The incident occurred around 12:28 a.m. on October 13 outside Jennifer’s Taqueria, located at 1929 Latham St. Officers responded to reports of a fight and upon arrival, spoke with the victim who claimed he had been assaulted by two men.

According to the victim, he was in the parking lot “minding his own business” when a group of men began shouting at him for no clear reason. The situation escalated when one man brandished a knife and pressed it against the victim’s neck while another man punched him in the face, police reported.

The victim identified the suspects, a 19-year-old and a 44-year-old, both Mountain View residents. Police arrested the men on suspicion of battery and brandishing a weapon. They were booked into the San Jose Main Jail.
