Last week, two individuals from Coffee County were arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine following a search of a residence on Willacoochee Highway.

On August 13, detectives from the Coffee County Drug Unit conducted an operation targeting Charles Black, leading to a search of his home on Willacoochee Highway. Before the search warrant was executed, Black left the residence but was later detained by authorities.

Upon entering the residence, detectives discovered Stephanie Rountree, 44, hiding in a bedroom closet, where they found a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. Additional methamphetamine and a digital scale were also recovered from the bedroom.

At the time of the search, Rountree had an active warrant for a probation violation. The suspected methamphetamine field-tested positive and weighed 34 grams, including its packaging.

Both Black and Rountree have been charged with trafficking methamphetamine. Rountree has a prior arrest for methamphetamine possession in November 2022. In March 2023, she pleaded guilty and was sentenced to Accountability (drug) Court. However, she violated the court’s terms in April 2023, resulting in a sentence of 8 hours of community service. By June 2023, she violated the terms again and was sentenced to 48 hours in Coffee County Jail.

Currently, both Black and Rountree remain in custody.
