Too hot, too distracting? Paraguayan swimmer asked to leave Paris for wearing skimpy outfits
Luana Alonso, a swimmer from Paraguay, is in the news for all the wrong reasons. Luana, who competed in the Olympics in Paris, was asked to leave the village because of her “inappropriate” behavior and her skimpy attire. Her Olympic career came to an end as she was unable to get past the 100-meter butterfly heats. According to reports, Luana’s actions, attire, and interactions with other athletes were distracting the athletes in their camp. She has allegedly been charged with distracting rivals by mingling with them while wearing skimpy attire.
She disobeyed additional directives as well, which led to her expulsion from the Olympic Village. After leaving the village to go to Disneyland, Luana ran into problems. This time, unlike in Tokyo, players are free to remain in the village after their games are over. However, Luana’s covert departure for a private visit to Disneyland did not sit well with Paraguayan authorities. Luana was called back, and this encounter served as the last straw. Luana has denied rumors that she was expelled from the athletes’ village, though.
