Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is traveling throughout New Mexico, hosting a series of town halls centered on public safety. Her first event took place in Las Cruces on Thursday.

During the town hall, the governor addressed community concerns about the rising issues of crime and drug problems across the state. She emphasized that addressing these challenges is her top priority, acknowledging that the severity of the situation is affecting community cleanup efforts.

“Some of the community work we engage in is too dangerous for residents due to the risks involved. It’s a harsh reality, and it’s disheartening to see my state in this condition,” Gov. Lujan Grisham remarked.
