Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles receive support from Michelle Obama following Marlon Humphrey’s “disgusting” Olympic take
Michelle Obama, the former first lady, is supporting Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles following the viral photo of their medals.
Following the Team USA gymnasts’ bow of respect to Rebeca Andrade of Brazil, who had just won the gold medal on the floor exercise, Ravens defensive back Marlon Humphrey shouted out Biles and Chiles.
The three-time Pro Bowl player Humphrey posted on X on Monday morning, saying, “This is literally disgusting.”
Obama, however, responded to the American performance in a very different way, stating that after Biles won silver and Chiles won bronze, they demonstrated excellent “sportsmanship.”
“This lovely instance of sisterhood and sportsmanship hasn’t left me yet! These women are so full of love, it’s overwhelming. Congratulations, Simone, Jordan, and Rebeca! Obama penned a piece for X.
Humphrey received a lot of backlash on social media for his viewpoint, which he acknowledged in a later Monday night tweet.
“Right now, I’m kind of getting cooked. He wrote, “I feel like I’m getting shit out on Instagram in Brazilian.”
For Team USA, Biles and Chiles have earned a combined total of six medals during this exciting Olympics.
For Biles in particular, who withdrew from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after dealing with the “twisties,” it has been a journey of atonement.

With an amazing performance in Paris, Biles has returned to the forefront of gymnastics, having won three gold and one silver medal.
The 27-year-old was embroiled in some drama on social media earlier in the games when she made fun of MyKayla Skinner, a former colleague who had previously criticized the American “work ethic,” following the Americans’ victory in the team all-around competition.

Skinner begged Biles’s supporters to stop criticizing her on Instagram on Tuesday.
“Simone, I am pleading with you openly and honestly to end this. You have been a fantastic advocate for mental health awareness, and many people are in need of your assistance right now. Please encourage your followers to stop,” Skinner added.
Although Biles has concluded her Olympic career, she has not ruled out returning in 2028.
