RECALL ALERT: Walmart Recalls Apple Juice Due to Elevated Arsenic Levels
According to Fox, Walmart has issued a recall for a popular apple juice brand after nearly 10,000 cases were found to contain potentially hazardous levels of arsenic.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) first announced the recall of the Great Value brand apple juice on August 15. However, the urgency of the recall was heightened on Friday, with the FDA emphasizing the importance of removing the affected products from circulation.
According to the FDA, while the contaminated apple juice may cause temporary minor health issues, it is unlikely to result in serious or long-term medical problems.
The recall impacts over 25 states, including South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.
“The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority,” said Molly Blakeman, a Walmart spokesperson, in a statement. “We have removed this product from our impacted stores and are working closely with the supplier to investigate the issue.”
