NOT GOOD: ‘What about the warranties?’ cry drivers after Harley-Davidson dealership closes – its nearest location is an hour away
According to THE SUN, A local motorbike owner is expressing frustration after his Harley-Davidson dealership, Miracle City Harley-Davidson in Titusville, Florida, closed its doors three years before the end of his warranty period. The dealership, which had been in operation for five years, shut down on September 1, as reported by Florida Today.
Dealer Closure and Warranty Worries
In a Facebook post, the motorbike rider voiced his concerns about the closure and the impact on his warranty. He complained about the inconvenience of having to travel a long distance for scheduled maintenance, questioning the status of the warranties on bikes sold by the now-closed dealership.
“I should have gone to a reputable dealer of long standing,” the frustrated bike owner lamented.
Miracle City Harley-Davidson’s closure leaves the rider with two alternative Harley-Davidson dealerships in Brevard County, Florida, both located at least an hour away from the closed store.
Harley-Davidson Warranty and Service Plans
Harley-Davidson provides a one-year parts and accessory warranty on its motorcycles, along with two years of custom coverage. For warranty service, Harley-Davidson requests up to two weeks to complete repairs. Additionally, the company offers Extended Service Plans (ESPs), which cover specific parts but require bikes to be taken to certified Harley-Davidson repair shops.
The U.S. Sun reached out to both the Harley-Davidson owner and a brand representative for comments but did not receive an immediate response.
Another Harley-Davidson Store Shutters Amid Controversy
Earlier this year, another major Harley-Davidson dealership in San Francisco closed after 110 years of business. The store, a fixture in downtown San Francisco, faced significant turmoil following a change in management in 2018.
According to Mission Local, an alleged conflict between the new management and employees led to a chaotic environment. Carlos Martinez, a salesperson with 22 years of experience at the dealership, described the situation as “chaotic.” A long-time mechanic also criticized the management, stating the store was “run into the ground.”
