According to KRQE, The Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) of New Mexico is making it more convenient for families to access support in raising their children. Through their Home Visiting Services program, families with children under the age of five can request a visit from a program partner who will come to their home and provide guidance on various aspects of child-rearing. This includes topics like prenatal care, safe sleep practices, and breastfeeding.

“ECECD is committed to making life-changing early childhood programs like Home Visiting more accessible to families across New Mexico,” said ECECD Cabinet Secretary Elizabeth Groginsky. “Whether you are welcoming your first child or your fourth, home visitors are your trusted partners in parenting, helping you navigate the joys and challenges of raising young children.”

To begin the process, families are encouraged to visit the “Am I Eligible?” portal online. Additional information can be found on the ECECD website.
