MONEY MAKER: Americans in line to get one-time check from $19m Fisher-Price settlement – you don’t just need receipt to get cash
According to The Sun, Americans are in line to receive checks from a settlement totaling $19 million related to the Fisher-Price Rock N’ Play sleeper. Payments are being issued to individuals who purchased or received this sleeper device, which has faced scrutiny for safety concerns.
Background of the Lawsuit
A lawsuit claimed that the Rock N’ Play sleeper was unsafe for children. In January 2023, more than 4.7 million units were recalled after reports of fatalities linked to the product. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission noted that deaths occurred when babies rolled from their backs to their stomachs while using the sleeper.
The Rock N’ Play sleeper was sold at major retailers, including Walmart and Target, as well as online through Amazon from September 2009 to April 2019. The initial recall announcement was made in April 2019. While Fisher-Price executives have not admitted any wrongdoing, the company has agreed to the settlement to resolve the allegations.
Compensation Details
Eligible individuals can claim $60 by filing a claim by April 29, 2025. Importantly, compensation will be extended not only to current owners of the sleeper but also to those who previously owned the device. However, only those who take action by filing a claim will receive a share of the settlement; payments will not be automatically issued to individuals who do nothing.

- January 28, 2025: A court hearing will take place in New York regarding the settlement.
When filing claims, individuals must have the product number and date code available.
Other Settlement Opportunities
The Fisher-Price compensation is not the only settlement currently open for claims. Reports indicate that Peacock subscribers could also be eligible for a payout, with claims due by November 13. Additionally, certain drivers may qualify for a share of a separate $6 million settlement.
