According to The SUN USA, Customer service representatives who previously worked for [24]7.ai could be eligible for a portion of a settlement after allegations surfaced that the company failed to properly compensate its employees. A wage-and-hour class action lawsuit claims that [24]7.ai violated both state and federal laws by underpaying its customer service representatives.

[24]7.ai, a California-based software company and artificial intelligence (AI) customer service platform, was founded in 2000. The company utilizes AI and machine learning to deliver targeted customer service solutions. However, it has been accused of not paying its customer service representatives all the overtime and straight pay wages they were owed, according to reports from Top Class Actions.

While [24]7.ai has not admitted any wrongdoing and continues to deny the allegations, the company has agreed to a $1.1 million settlement to resolve the lawsuit. The settlement is intended to benefit current and former hourly employees who worked as customer service representatives for [24]7.ai.

To be eligible for a portion of the settlement, individuals must have worked for [24]7.ai as customer service representatives between February 15, 2020, and June 15, 2024. Under the settlement terms, eligible employees are not required to submit a claim form. Instead, they will automatically receive a payment, the amount of which will be determined by the length of their employment during the class period. These calculations were made based on payroll and employee records.

Eligible employees, referred to as class members in the lawsuit, should have received their total workweeks and estimated settlement payment amounts in the settlement notices mailed earlier this year. The exact payment amount will vary depending on how many weeks the employee worked between February 15, 2020, and June 15, 2024.

Class members have until September 19 to challenge the number of workweeks assigned to them as outlined in their settlement notices. The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for November 14, 2024. Eligible employees can expect to receive their portion of the settlement after this date, either via mailed check or direct deposit.

Other Major Class Action Settlements

[24]7.ai isn’t the only company facing a significant payout due to a class action settlement. TaxAct.com, a widely-used tax filing service, has agreed to pay nearly $15 million to customers after allegedly sharing personal information. Additionally, MCG Health, a healthcare company, is offering eligible customers up to $11,500 each following a February 2020 data breach that exposed private customer information.
