A man was accused of sexual abuse, according to the US Attorney for the District of New Mexico. He is accused of assaulting a girl who is fifteen years old.
Mescalero Apache Tribe member Thomas Lee Chaffins, 35, is charged with having sex with a 15-year-old on September 27. The girl was reportedly too drunk to remember specifics of the incident.
If found guilty, Chaffins could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
