“Man Wanted in 3 States Arrested in Western New Mexico”
Federal and local law enforcement recently apprehended a suspect wanted in multiple states.
The Gallup Police Department (GPD), along with the FBI and the McKinley County Sheriff’s Office, received reports of a vehicle with occupants allegedly involved in narcotics sales. The vehicle was located near the intersection of First and Hill Streets, according to GPD.
The GPD narcotics team responded, and upon making contact, 31-year-old Dmar Elleby attempted to flee on foot but was quickly detained.
Authorities discovered that Elleby had three active arrest warrants from New Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona. During a search, officers found four shotgun shells in Elleby’s possession.
Elleby was arrested based on the outstanding warrants. The vehicle was impounded by Gallup police, and a subsequent search warrant revealed narcotics and a sawed-off shotgun inside, as reported by GPD.
