Man Charged in Albuquerque Apartment Murder of Ex-Wife’s Boyfriend
A 41-year-old man is in custody after allegedly murdering his ex-wife’s boyfriend, according to Albuquerque police. Authorities identified the suspect as Yojani Pacheco Hernandez, who is accused of shooting and killing Lisvany Peneranda early Wednesday morning at the Volcanes Commons Apartments, located on Glenrio Road west of Coors Boulevard.
Detectives reported that prior to the shooting, Hernandez told his ex-wife that she could have been with any other man besides Peneranda. Concerned about a possible confrontation, she advised Peneranda to leave her apartment. However, before she could warn him, she noticed Hernandez’s vehicle parked near her own, but it was too late to alert Peneranda in time to prevent the fatal encounter.
The investigation is ongoing as Hernandez remains in police custody.
