HURRY UP: Americans can claim four payments from $3 million overtime pay settlement – you just need a Social Security number
According The SUN USA, Former employees of an Illinois-based company who were not compensated for their overtime work may be eligible to receive up to four payments as part of a recent settlement.
Greenridge, previously known as Greenridge Farm, is a family-owned meat and cheese processing company based in Illinois. The company is now facing a lawsuit filed by the state’s attorney general, who alleges that Greenridge failed to pay its employees the overtime wages they were entitled to, according to Top Class Actions.
The lawsuit follows a joint investigation conducted by the Illinois attorney general and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division, which found that Greenridge violated the Fair Labor Standards Act through its payment practices.
While Greenridge has not admitted any wrongdoing, the company has agreed to a $3 million settlement to resolve the claims related to unpaid overtime wages.
Payment Information
The settlement affects individuals who worked at the Greenridge facility located at 2355 Greenleaf Avenue in Elk Grove Village, Illinois—about 20 miles from Chicago—between May 24, 2019, and May 24, 2022.
Eligible Greenridge employees could receive up to four payments, with the first payment beginning on July 17, 2024, and continuing through November 19, 2025. The exact amount each worker will receive depends on the overtime wages they are owed.
Employees should have received a mailed settlement notice detailing their estimated payment amount. To receive compensation, they were required to submit a claim form by June 17, 2024.
Those who met the original deadline should have received their first payment shortly after July 17, 2024. However, workers who missed the initial deadline have until October 20, 2025, to submit a late claim form. It’s important to note that late claimants may not receive all four payments.
Class members can receive their payments via check mailed to the address provided in their claim form, or they can opt for other payment methods, including Zelle, Venmo, direct deposit, PayPal, or a MasterCard Prepaid Card.
To receive payment, a valid Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is required. It is also important to note that immigration status does not affect eligibility for receiving payment from this settlement.
If you believe you may be eligible for payment from this settlement, be sure to check the details and submit any necessary forms before the final deadline. Additionally, keep an eye out for other settlements that may apply to your situation.
