Hot Weather Continues: Isolated Storms Possible in the Forecast
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) — Most of the forecast area will stay dry and calm for the rest of Monday, with only a slight chance of isolated showers in the northern regions. Any storms that develop are expected to be weak and likely dissipate after sunset.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, there is another opportunity for isolated storms. These storms are anticipated to originate in the high terrain of New Mexico and move eastward due to a low-pressure system situated north of the viewing area. The best chances for precipitation in our area will be closer to the Texas-New Mexico border, west of I-27. Should any storms become severe, the primary hazard will be winds exceeding 50 mph.
Additionally, the low-pressure system will bring breezy conditions to the region on Tuesday. Storm chances may persist into Wednesday morning, with clearer conditions expected by Thursday. However, storms are projected to return over the weekend.
Temperatures will remain warm throughout the workweek, hovering in the low 90s. A cool down is anticipated by Saturday, with temperatures shifting to the mid-to-upper 80s.
