Highway 101 has reopened in both directions following a big rig fire that erupted on Tuesday afternoon. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the truck caught fire on the southbound side of the highway, with smoke drifting into the northbound lanes, leading to a temporary closure of the entire highway.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

While traffic has resumed, drivers may still experience some delays as the CHP noted that the southbound off-ramp to Betabel Road remains closed for the time being.
