Grand Canyon Tragedy: 20-Year-Old Found Dead After Multi-Day Search
The body of Leticia A. Castillo, a 20-year-old resident of New Mexico, was discovered by park rangers at Grand Canyon National Park following a multi-day search. Castillo’s body was found approximately 150 feet below the rim at the Twin Overlooks along Desert View Drive.
Castillo entered the park on August 3, and both the National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
Her death marks the third fatality at the Grand Canyon within the past week. Earlier, a BASE jumper died at the park on August 1, and a 20-year-old man from North Carolina passed away on July 31.
The investigations into these incidents are ongoing.
