GONE FOR GOOD: Aldi confirms popular location will permanently close down in days as shoppers spot employees ‘clearing out shelves’
According to The Sun, ALDI is preparing to permanently close one of its popular stores in Chicago, with the final day of operation set for October 13.
Details of the Closure
The store located at 1836 N. Clybourn Ave. will be shutting its doors, according to confirmation from a company spokesperson, as reported by FOX 32 Chicago. Despite this closure, nearby ALDI locations, including those on Clybourn Avenue, Milwaukee Avenue, and Division Street, will continue to serve customers.
- These nearby stores will still provide curbside pickup and grocery delivery through services like Instacart and DoorDash.
ALDI’s Commitment to the Community
An ALDI spokesperson reassured customers, stating: “ALDI will continue to provide residents great products at the lowest possible prices at our more than 30 stores across the city of Chicago. We remain committed to making a positive impact on every community we serve.”
- The company confirmed that all impacted employees have been offered transfers to other stores of their choice, ensuring that no jobs will be lost.
Shoppers React to the News
Many regular customers have expressed their surprise and disappointment. One shopper mentioned, “This location has been clearing out shelves and freezers, so I asked the cashier this past weekend: ‘Is this store in trouble?’ She laughed and said, ‘No, we’re just remodeling.'”
Another customer took to Facebook to express their concern, saying: “Dang. That’s the store I shop at.”
ALDI’s Halloween Decor in High Demand
In other ALDI news, customers have been eagerly seeking out a ghost decor item just in time for Halloween.
- The Huntington Home Halloween Porcelain White Ghost with LED lights is available for $9.99 and has been popular among those decorating their homes for the spooky season.
- This small LED ghost is perfect for countertops or mantles and provides an eerie glow. However, it’s in limited stock, so interested shoppers should act quickly.
Other Halloween Finds at ALDI
If you can’t find the ghost, there’s another option: a miniature pumpkin LED light from the same Huntington Home series, which features light-up eyes and a mouth, glowing orange.
Other Retailers Offering Halloween Deals
ALDI isn’t the only store with affordable Halloween decor this year. Dollar Tree has been offering budget-friendly decorations that rival more expensive options found at retailers like Pottery Barn and Michaels.
- For example, carvable pumpkins are available at Dollar Tree for 88% less than similar products at Michaels.
- A hanging bat decoration, almost sold out at Dollar Tree, is priced 91% cheaper than competitors.
- You can also find a $1.25 skeleton garland at Dollar Tree that looks identical to a Target version but is at least 14 times cheaper.
With Halloween approaching, customers are flocking to these stores to take advantage of the affordable decorations before they’re all gone.
