Gabby Douglas Gets Angry About Being Compared to Simone Biles All the Time
Even if Gabby Douglas did not participate in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the three-time Olympic gold medallist is still very well-known. However, there are some detractors even amidst sizable fan bases. Many have observed that Douglas has been likened by some to fellow Olympian Simone Biles. One user expressed their annoyance on TikTok, saying that Douglas, 28, seemed to be ignored once Biles, 27, rose to prominence in the Olympic arena.
According to this TikToker, after Biles entered the picture, individuals “dropped” Douglas “like a bad habit”.

“Gabby Douglas used to be the greatest Olympic gymnast and then here comes Simone Biles,” stated the TikToker.
In closing the video, the TikToker expressed her love for Douglas one more and said that the gymnast was never far from her thoughts.
“When [was] the last time you thought about Gabby Douglas?,” she inquired. “I think about her all the time.”
Douglas must have discovered the video. She said in the comments area that she was burnt out from being in the spotlight and didn’t mind that her fame had leveled down.

Douglas withdrew from the Olympics for six years after competing in her second Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. When she watched Team USA win gold at the 2022 World Championships, she made the decision to return to the mat. Despite being unable to compete in the Paris Games due to a foot ailment, she revealed in an interview with E! News that she is thinking about going back for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

“Getting back and having the right diet, having the right structure, having the right schedule, I was like, Oh, I can possibly do this” said Douglas. Therefore, experimenting with different skills is a lot of fun. Some of the talents I competed in my voyage were things I had never done before.”
