All 50 states, along with territories such as Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia, will send money to eligible recipients throughout the month.

Maximum SNAP Benefits in the 48 Contiguous States
The USDA’s fiscal year 2024 cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) will increase the maximum monthly allotment for SNAP recipients. For a family of four in the 48 contiguous states and Washington D.C., the maximum payment will be $973, effective October 1, 2023.

In Alaska, payments will range from $1,248 to $1,937. Guam will offer $1,434, while the U.S. Virgin Islands will pay $1,251. Hawaii is the only state where the maximum allotment will decrease to $1,759 for a family of four.
For smaller households, the maximum benefit for an individual in the 48 states will remain at $291, while a family of eight could receive $1,751.
