“Fremont Murder Suspect Turns Himself In at Pleasanton Police Department”
A 47-year-old man linked to a homicide in Fremont has surrendered to authorities. Abbasin Hoshmand, a Fremont resident, turned himself in at the Pleasanton Police Department on Friday, according to Fremont police.
The murder, which took place on Thursday at approximately 4:40 p.m., occurred in the 40400 block of Grimmer Boulevard. Officers responding to the scene discovered an unidentified man lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Alameda County coroner has placed a press hold on releasing the victim’s identity.
Shortly after the incident, Fremont detectives identified Hoshmand as a primary suspect and began actively following leads, expanding their search into other Bay Area cities.
Early Friday morning, Hoshmand voluntarily surrendered to Pleasanton police, who then handed him over to Fremont authorities. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder.
