- Total economic impact: $45 billion, reflecting a 4.4% increase from $43.12 billion in 2024.
- Wages: $12.9 billion, marking a 9.3% rise from the previous year’s $11.8 billion.
- Business taxes: $4.8 billion contributed to the state’s revenue.
- Exports: $301.8 million in agricultural exports, a 22.1% jump from $247.1 million in 2024.
- Employment: The industry supports 253,529 jobs across New Mexico.

New Mexico Agriculture Secretary Jeff Witte emphasized the industry’s importance, stating, “Our state’s food and agriculture sector plays a vital role in sustaining our local economy. The increases in wages, exports, and economic impact underscore the dedication of those working from farm to table.”
On a national level, the food and agriculture industries contributed $9.5 trillion to the U.S. economy in 2025, accounting for 18.7% of the country’s total economic output. The report also noted the sector’s resilience in overcoming global supply chain challenges, growing by nearly 25% since the pandemic.
