
According to The Sun, Thousands of dollars are available as Acrisure, a financial technology and insurance brokerage company, has agreed to settle claims related to a significant data breach that occurred in 2022.
Allegations Against Acrisure
While Acrisure has not admitted to any wrongdoing, the settlement addresses allegations that the company failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures, leading to the theft of consumer information. The lawsuit claims that this breach compromised sensitive data, leaving affected individuals vulnerable to financial loss.
Settlement Details
As part of the settlement, individuals whose personal information was compromised in the December 2022 data breach are eligible for $4,000 in compensation. To receive payments, claimants must provide supporting documents such as account statements, tax documents, fraud claims, invoices, bills, and receipts.
Additionally, a claim form must be completed and submitted by November 14, 2024.
Compensation Breakdown
Eligible claimants will receive $4,000 for losses related to the data breach, which may include damages from fraud or identity theft, professional fees, credit expenses, and communication costs. Claimants can also claim up to four hours of lost time at a rate of $25 per hour. Furthermore, the settlement includes two years of one-bureau credit monitoring and identity protection services.

Additional Data Breach Settlements
Individuals may also benefit from another data breach settlement involving AT&T. An investigation by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) found that AT&T failed to safeguard customer data after a hack of its cloud vendor in January 2023. Although AT&T has not admitted to any wrongdoing, the company has agreed to a $13 million settlement to resolve the FCC’s claims.
False Advertising Settlement
In another settlement, consumers who purchased Breyers Natural Vanilla ice cream between April 21, 2016, and August 14, 2024, may be eligible for $1. The settlement claims that the company misrepresented its product as containing real vanilla, while it allegedly contained artificial vanilla flavoring instead. Breyers has also not admitted to any wrongdoing in this case. To claim the cash, consumers must submit a claim form by February 19, 2025.
Other Settlements and Compensation
The U.S. Sun reported additional settlements where Americans could receive payments, including potential $115 payouts. Moreover, Home Depot has agreed to pay a $2 million settlement following allegations of overcharging customers.
