“El Paso Families Celebrate Fall at the 2024 Apple Festival”

Borderland families looking to embrace the change of seasons with a fun day trip can head to the 2024 Apple Festival, just a short drive from El Paso and Las Cruces.

Nichols Ranch and Orchards, located near Alamogordo, will host this celebration of a plentiful apple harvest, featuring live music, various vendors, and plenty of apples.

Apples, Food, and Live Music

The 4th Annual Apple Festival will take place on Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6, offering families a chance to enjoy fresh mountain air, stunning views of the Sacramento Mountains, and the experience of picking their own apples.

As the festival is all about apples, attendees can look forward to a variety of apple-themed treats, including apple pies, apple butter, apple turnovers, caramel apples, and apple cider.

This year’s event will feature live music each day, along with more than 20 food vendors and over 85 arts and crafts vendors from Texas and New Mexico.

For younger attendees, the Runyan Ranches Petting Zoo will be among the kid-friendly activities available.

  • Kids: Children under 12 get in free

The event is handicap accessible, with shuttle service available from the parking lot to the main barn area.

How to Get There

The 2024 Apple Festival at Nichols Ranch and Orchards is a convenient day trip from El Paso and Las Cruces.

Located 7 miles east of La Luz, NM, and about 20 minutes from Alamogordo, it’s easy to find. Directions are available on the event’s website.
