According to THE SUN, Pet owners who purchased Earth Rated’s Certified Compostable Poop Bags between October 28, 2015, and June 13, 2024, may be eligible for compensation following a recent class action lawsuit. The lawsuit alleged that the bags, advertised as compostable, did not actually break down as claimed. Earth Rated has settled the case for $825,000 but denies any wrongdoing.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for compensation, claimants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Purchase Requirement: The product must have been purchased within the specified dates.
  2. Product Type: The claim must be related to the Earth Rated Certified Compostable Poop Bags.

Proof of purchase is not required to file a claim, though it can increase the payout amount. Those without proof can claim up to three products for a maximum of $6, while those with proof can receive $2 per product with no cap on the number of products.
