Days numbered for current SNAP maximum amounts, new COLA increase in hours
According to Vibes.okdiario, The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced the next Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) increase for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits in the 48 contiguous states, the District of Columbia, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Alaska. However, it’s important to note that Hawaii will not receive a SNAP COLA increase and will be the only state to experience a reduction in benefits.
Effective Date for the New COLA
The new COLA will take effect on October 1, 2025. Food stamp recipients eligible for payments on that date should check their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) accounts to see how much their benefits have increased compared to the September amounts.
While the increase is anticipated, recipients may notice that the adjustment is quite small, meaning the difference between the September and October payments may not be substantial. Nonetheless, this increase is still preferable to the reduction faced by residents of Hawaii.
