CLEAN CASH: Americans can claim one-time payment from $850,000 dry shampoo settlement – and you don’t need any receipts

According to THE SUN, Some Americans may be eligible for cash from a recent settlement involving IGK, a haircare brand under Luxury Brand Partners LLC. This settlement follows a class action lawsuit alleging that certain IGK dry shampoo sprays were contaminated with high levels of benzene, a harmful carcinogen linked to blood cancers and leukemia.

Settlement Details

Although Luxury Brand Partners did not admit any wrongdoing, they agreed to an $850,000 settlement to resolve the claims and avoid further legal costs. The settlement aims to compensate individuals who purchased the affected products.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for a payment from the settlement, individuals must meet the following criteria:

• Purchase Requirement: Have bought at least one of the three specified IGK dry shampoo products—IGK Direct Flight, IGK First Class, or IGK Jet Lag.
• Purchase Date: The purchase must have been made on or before April 23, 2024.

Eligible claimants can submit a claim through the settlement website.

How to File a Claim

Filing a claim requires basic personal information such as name, street address, and email address. Claimants can choose their preferred payment method from options including direct deposit, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, or a pre-paid Mastercard.

• Proof of Purchase: Uploading receipts for the dry shampoo bottles is optional but recommended. Providing proof can increase the amount of money received from the settlement.

Payment Details and Deadlines

• With Receipts: Refunds can be claimed for each purchased product without any limit.
• Without Receipts: Claims are capped at five products, with a maximum payout of $20 ($4 per product).

Payments will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis depending on the number of claims received.

Deadlines:

• Exclusion or Objection: The deadline has passed (September 6).
• Claim Submission: The deadline to file a claim is November 19, which is also the date of the final hearing for the case.
