According to THE SUN, Consumers affected by a data breach at Acrisure in 2022 are eligible for a one-time payout of up to $4,000. The financial technology and insurance brokerage company has agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit related to the incident.

Settlement Details
To address these claims, Acrisure has agreed to a settlement, though the total settlement amount has not been disclosed. The company, which generates $4.3 billion in revenue, has not admitted to any wrongdoing as part of the settlement agreement.
Eligibility and Compensation
Consumers eligible for the payout will have received a class-action settlement notice, indicating their personal information was compromised in December 2022. They can claim up to $4,000 for various losses related to the breach, including:
- Money lost due to fraud or identity theft
- Credit expenses
- Fees for professional services related to the breach
Additionally, claimants will receive $25 per hour for up to four hours of time lost due to the breach. The settlement also includes two years of credit monitoring and identity protection services.
How to File a Claim
To receive compensation, claimants must submit their claim form along with receipts or documentation proving their losses. This may include tax statements, fraud claims, invoices, or other relevant documents.
The deadline to submit claims is October 15. This date also marks the deadline for those wishing to object to the settlement terms or exclude themselves from the settlement. Excluding oneself from the settlement means forfeiting the cash payout but retaining the right to pursue future legal action regarding the claims.
Upcoming Legal Proceedings
A final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for November 8 in Kent County, Michigan.
