A law firm spokesperson said in a news release about the ranking that “as every cyclist knows, commuting on busy roads and tackling high levels of vehicle traffic comes with certain risks— and this data shows the states where commuters need to be particularly vigilant, especially with warmer weather arriving and attracting more cyclists to the already-busy roads.”

It should come as no surprise that, wherever they go, pedal bikers may inherently be more vulnerable to danger than other road users. Therefore, it is crucial to observe traffic laws and make accurate observations on a regular basis.

According to the rating, neither Nebraska nor Rhode Island was the safest state for bikers in 2022, with no fatal bicycle-related crashes reported.
