Albuquerque Police Investigate Three Homicides in One Night
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – Albuquerque police are working swiftly to resolve a violent spree of three murders that occurred Saturday night. The incidents unfolded in rapid succession, straining law enforcement resources and prompting a detailed investigation.
Public Information Officer Gilbert Gallegos addressed the situation, stating, “Most of the time, it’s peaceful, but it has been very violent.” Gallegos emphasized the urgency of the investigation, noting that the three homicides happened within the span of an hour.
The murders occurred at separate locations: Copper Avenue and 6th Street, 4th Street, and the corner of 2nd Street and Gold Avenue. Despite their proximity, police have confirmed that the cases are not connected.
Gallegos expressed concern over the brazen nature of the crimes, with suspects using guns and, in one case, committing a stabbing. “It just seems to be really brazen on some of these people that are bringing guns downtown or, in one case, the stabbing,” he said.
Local residents, including Josh Bradshaw, are reacting to the investigations. “That’s the reality as well, that’s a reality in a lot of big cities,” Bradshaw remarked.
Authorities continue to investigate the incidents, seeking any leads to resolve these tragic events.
