Albuquerque Police Investigate Apparent Murder-Suicide: Three Dead
Authorities reported Monday that three individuals were found dead at a residence in southeast Albuquerque in what appears to be a murder-suicide.
According to Albuquerque police, a 22-year-old man is suspected of fatally shooting his 20-year-old sister and 17-year-old brother before taking his own life. All three victims sustained gunshot wounds to the head.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been released, and the police have not disclosed a possible motive for the tragedy.
“This is a real tragedy,” said police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos during a news conference.
Officers responded to a call around 11 p.m. Sunday about three unresponsive individuals found inside the home. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The man and his siblings lived together in the home with their mother, who was away at the time of the incident. She discovered the bodies upon returning and subsequently contacted the authorities.
