At Tuesday’s regular session, the Alamogordo City Commission gathered with a packed chamber, as local residents turned out in large numbers to hear the latest developments on city matters. One of the highlights of the meeting was a presentation by the leadership of the Mescalero Apache Tribe, representing the Inn of the Mountain Gods, who proposed a transformative plan for the former Alamogordo Fun Family Center.
The Tribe’s proposal aims to revitalize the closed Family Fun Center, turning it into an affordable and community-focused family entertainment venue. The Inn of the Mountain Gods envisions a range of attractions, including bowling, food options, virtual golfing, and an escape room. The presentation was well-received, and after considering input from both city staff and the public, the City Commission unanimously voted in favor of awarding the management contract to the Inn of the Mountain Gods.
“This venture will provide a much-needed, budget-friendly entertainment option for the Alamogordo and Holloman communities,” said City officials, expressing excitement over the revitalization of the Family Fun Center site after its closure more than a year ago.
