Air Force Member Faces Charges After Alleged Assault and Robbery
An active-duty Air Force member has been arrested for allegedly breaking into an Alamogordo business, assaulting a female employee, and stealing money, according to the Alamogordo Police Department.
On Thursday, Sept. 19, around 5:10 p.m., officers responded to reports of a theft in progress at a business on the 1700 block of East 10th Street. During their investigation, police learned that a male suspect had entered the business, physically assaulted the lone female employee, sexually assaulted her, and stolen money before fleeing the scene.
The Alamogordo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, along with investigators from the 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, launched an investigation into the incident.
The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Isaiah Rashaun King, a member of the U.S. Air Force. With assistance from the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and law enforcement at White Sands Missile Range, King was located and arrested.
He is facing charges of kidnapping, criminal sexual penetration, robbery, aggravated battery, attempted criminal sexual penetration, battery, and larceny, according to police. King is currently being held at the Otero County Detention Center, awaiting his appearance in Magistrate Court.
