$700 to $1,100 In Tax Relief: St. Louis County Makes It Easier for Seniors to Apply for Tax Credits
St. Louis County Simplifies Senior Tax Credit Program
St. Louis County has revised its Senior Tax Credit program to make it more accessible for seniors and disabled residents. According to a report by On Your Side, the updates include lowering the eligibility age from 67 to 62 and removing previous property value limits. With these changes, renters can now receive up to $750, while homeowners can get up to $1,100 to help cover rent or property taxes.
To facilitate these improvements, the county is investing $300,000 in new software and additional staff to expedite the application process. Councilman Mark Harder stated that these enhancements are designed to streamline the application process and ensure that more seniors receive the assistance they need without unnecessary delays.
