According to Vibes.okdiario, The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is still offering replacement benefits in Florida for those affected by Hurricane Milton. Many Food Stamps recipients may have lost food purchased with their benefits due to the hurricane.

Waiver from USDA

While many SNAP recipients have received a waiver from the USDA, which eliminates the need to apply for replacement, it is essential for Florida residents to ensure they apply for replacements before the deadline.

Steps to Get SNAP Replacement in Florida

  1. Confirm Your Eligibility: Make sure you are a current SNAP recipient. If you are no longer a Food Stamp beneficiary, you may not qualify for replacement assistance.
  2. Complete the Application: If you are still eligible, fill out the application form by October 19, 2024.
  3. Provide Verification: Your household must verify that you experienced a power outage lasting at least four hours, which resulted in food loss. This damage must be documented in your MYACCESS Account.
