2024 NMAA State Cross Country: Corbin Coombs Leads with Record-Breaking Victory
Organ Mountain High School in Las Cruces, coached by former Alamogordo athlete David Nunez, had a remarkable performance at the 2024 NMAA 5A State Cross Country Meet held at Albuquerque Academy on Saturday. The standout athlete of the day was Corbin Coombs, who set a new state record by finishing first in the boys’ 5A race with an impressive time of 14:49.0, breaking the previous record by 16 seconds.
The Organ Mountain Knights had other notable performances, including Jeron Wisner, who finished 4th, and Ashly Galaz, an 8th grader, who placed 10th in the girls’ race.
